Ridge Creek of the Texas Rangers leaves his new romance with Blanca Flores back in Bridge Town to take a patrol on the trail north to the Indian Territories. The settlers on the Southern Red River have suffered sporadic raids from the Plains Indians killing the men and kidnapping the women. Acting in an effort to stop the encroachment of farmers and ranchers homesteading on their hunting grounds. After the Sun Dance, calling the Comanche, Kiowa and Cheyenne warrior braves to attack buffalo hunters and white settlers who have come west, this old Texan Ranger calls for a parley with Comanche Chief Quanah Parker. Finally riding into the big Indian village where the three tribes and their warriors camped. A path that will eventually lead the Rangers to the Battle of Lost Valley and for some an uncertain future. Ash Lingam has created a hard Texan lawman for a true Western Adventure. "The second book has a better story line than the first. Both good reads but Lost Valley better structure. I read it in two days."

  • Another riveting novel from Ash Lingam. This time about the conflict between the Plain Indians and the White Settlers of the Old West in America.
After 25 years of watching the White Settlers encroach on the lands and hunting grounds of the Plains Indians, Captain Ridge Creek’ sympathies lie with the Indians. The farmers illegally establish their homesteads, and buffalo hunters illegally trespass, on the Great Indian Plains, the land promised to the Indians by the Government. A viewpoint he shares with the authorities, as he points out the matter of Honor for the Indian Braves to avenge the deaths of their families. Advice which is ignored and the conflict escalates.
His moral conflict between siding with the Indians and his duty to protect the settlers sees him attempting a peaceful settlement between the two groups. This leads them down a path that results in the Battle of Lost Valley. A real event in American History, which Ash Lingam writes about from a refreshing unjaundiced viewpoint.
  • AL has written about the time when the first settlers moved into West Texas along the Red River. The Native Americans had been pushed off their lands and their food supply. buffalo, were being killed by the thousands. Thee combined tribes of Comanche, Kiowa, Cheyenne and other lesser now tribes. The Texas Rangers were formed to counter the attacks from the Native Americans. The Texas's Ranger and Native American wars lasted 50 years. The main character in this storyline was a Texas's Ranger for 25 years. Although this work is fiction the writer includes characters from the old west that actually existed. This is an excellent read of fiction and fact for thr genre.....ER
  • The second book has a better story line than the first. Both good reads but Lost Valley better structure. I read it in two days.
  • Good follow up to the first volume. This one is more unpredictable with surprises. I liked this one a lot
  • I have never read anything as badly written as this. The grammar and mechanics were so bad that it was almost impossible to follow the story. It was written in constantly changing tense, which frequently jumped around even within sentences. The whole thing is just one big mess, and I would certainly not recommend it for any reader.
  • History book like dialogue. Although I can't say that I know it is accurate. Interesting nonetheless. I will keep reading and let you know.
  • This new series of books are very good like the first 10 I have read good book s from beginning to the end.
  • This story was easy to read and a very detailed story I plan to read the other stories by this author.
